Portofino Ubud truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best Italian bistros in town. The pasta selection was excellent—cooked to a perfect al dente—and the zucchini flower with ricotta was delightful. My only feedback would be around the sense of ownership from the staff. For example, after the rain stopped, it would have made a big difference if the seating area had been reset proactively instead of waiting for guests to take the initiative. Small touches like that really elevate the overall ambiance. That said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable overall. Definitely worth visiting for authentic Italian flavors in Ubud!

The best Margherita pizza I've ever had, of all places, in Bali! On one of the main roads of Ubud, this restaurant has street front and indoor dining. No air-conditioning (when we visited in July), but don't let that stop you. The food was some of the best I've enjoyed in Bali. The Pasta was cooked to perfection, slightest bite, aldente. The flavours were well balanced in my prawn and pipi pasta with butter sauce. Yummy! As aforementioned, the pizza. Wow. The dough was the fluffiest I've had, with amazing flavour. The pictures do not do it justice, as it looks slightly burned. I can assure you it is not. Fresh tasting tomato sauce, delicious cheese and fresh basil to make the best I've had, and that includes in Italy. The olives were not my favourite, however great value. The ragu was very good, nothing fantastic, but a definite 7 or 8/10. Small selection of beer and wine by the glass would be one of my two constructive criticisms, the second, the staff were sometimes a little preoccupied with eachother instead of focusing on guests. The restaurant was child friendly, however there are stairs to access the restaurant. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I would definitely put it on your list in Ubud if you enjoy Italian.

Buonissimo!! As big fan of pumpkin, I ordered Pumpkin Ricotta Ravioli and Pumpkin Humus and both did not disappoint. The humus was nicely thick and sweet. Scooping it with the toasted warm bread on the side was just perfect. The pumpkin ravioli was also very tasty, the ravioli not overly cooked, ratio of filling and pasta was very balanced, it was also very fragrant. The staff recommended me a cocktail Baccio which was sweet and sour, just exactly what I asked for. The staff also took the time to revisit your table to check if everything is ok. I saw the other table ordered pizza and it looked also very sumptuous. Love the atmosphere, it was casual but not sloppy nor did it try too hard to be artificially stylish. Definitely added to must revisit list in Ubud with pizza on the next order.

PORTOFINO has a wonderful ambience—warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out. The service definitely adds to the experience; the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. The standout of the night was without question the zucchini flowers. Stuffed with a goat cheese surprise, they were out-of-this-world good. Honestly, if you enjoy these as much as I did, we could probably be friends. The prawn pasta, on the other hand, was a mixed experience. The pasta itself was beautifully al dente, and the prawns were fresh, but the overpowering amount of cheese sprinkled on top completely threw the dish off balance. It would’ve been much better served on the side. I even added asparagus just to offset the cheesiness. A bit disappointing, and yes—I’m still thinking about that cheese. Dessert redeemed things with amazing profiteroles: perfectly baked and paired with a delicious salted caramel sauce. Compliments to the chef! We had our meal with a bottle of I Muri Primitivo, which complemented the dishes quite nicely. Overall, it was a good experience—good enough that we’d come back, though probably not in a hurry. And next time, I’ll be sure to request no cheese on the pasta.

We accidentally stumbled upon this charming little place on one of Ubud's liveliest streets. We weren't mistaken: the gnocchi and pizza were exquisite, as were the tiramisu and lemon tart. It was a very pleasant surprise. And to complete the experience, the staff's service was unbeatable; they were very warm and made you feel right at home.

Apparently no Italians work here but the food taste like a Nona is out the back. Not to mention the service is so good words can’t do it justice. Thank you for a wonderful experience
